ORDINANCE AMENDING CHARTER ORDINANCE NO.7 BY THE ELIMINATION OF CITY COMMISSIONER POSITIONS FOR THE CITY OF STOCKTON, KANSAS.

WHEREAS, Charter Ordinance No. 7 adopted March 22, 1993, established five (5) numbered positions for the Stockton City Commission and it is in the best interest of the city to eliminate those numbered positions.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, KANSAS:

Section 1. The City of Stockton, Kansas, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby eliminates the election of commissioners by numbered position. Hereafter city commissioners shall be elected at large without numbered position. The language of Charter Ordinance No. 7 which created numbered positions 1 through 5 for the City Commission is hereby eliminated and deleted. The remaining Sections and portions of Charter Ordinance No. 7 remain unchanged.

Section 2. Any other ordinances, parts of ordinances, or sections of the City Code which refer to numbered positions for the City Commission is hereby changed and amended to eliminate those numbered positions
